Who We Are 

Who We Are

We believe in people, potential and the power of support. The Simply Blended Family Foundation is a South African non-profit organisation focused on mental wellness, personal development, family wellbeing, humanitarian support and disainclusion. We work primarily with young people from Grade 8 to Grade 12, while recognising that a young person does not grow in isolation. Their family matters. Their school matters. Their community matters. Their wellbeing matters. Our programmes therefore support the young person while strengthening the environments around them.

Why We Exist

Many young people silently struggle with anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, family challenges and uncertainty about their future. Too often, they face these challenges without the support they need to cope, grow and believe in themselves. The Simply Blended Family Foundation was born from a deeply personal understanding of how mental wellness, encouragement and the right support can transform a life. Today, we walk alongside young people and the families who support them, because we believe lasting change happens when strong minds are nurtured within strong families and caring communities.

Our Story

"Healing begins with one person. Hope grows when it is shared." Our founder's journey is one of resilience, healing and purpose. Through personal experience, she came to understand the importance of mental wellness, encouragement and having someone who believes in you. What began as a personal commitment to make a difference has grown into a foundation that supports young people and families across communities. Today, that same commitment continues to guide everything we do.

Build A Boy & Girl

Building Strong Minds. Growing Confident Futures. Welcome to Build A Boy & Girl — our flagship youth development programme supporting young people from Grade 8 to Grade 12. We walk alongside young people as they navigate adolescence, school, relationships, identity and decisions about their future. Through mentorship, emotional wellbeing, personal development and life skills, we create safe spaces where young people can talk, learn, grow and discover who they were created to be.

EveryoneBelongs

Inclusion. Dignity. Opportunity. Welcome to EveryoneBelongs — our programme dedicated to creating inclusive spaces and opportunities for children and young people with disabilities and special educational needs. We work with children, families, schools and communities to promote dignity, participation, confidence and belonging. Because every child deserves to be seen, supported and given the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Kindness in Action. Giving with Heart. Welcome to Let's Share the Love — our humanitarian and community wellness programme providing practical support to families and communities while creating moments of kindness, connection and hope. We believe that sometimes people need more than words. They need someone to show up, lend a hand and remind them that they are not alone.

LetsJustBlend

Families Connecting. Healing. Growing Together. Welcome to Let's Just Blend — our family wellness programme created to strengthen relationships, encourage open conversations and support families as they navigate life together. We believe young people do not grow in isolation. The family and support systems around them play an important role in their emotional wellbeing, confidence and future.

"Good day, my name is Hlomla Rawu from New Cross, and I’m part of the Simply Blended Foundation, which focuses on supporting the boy child and broken families. Since joining, my life has improved significantly, especially after finishing matric and being unemployed. I’m deeply grateful to our mother, @Ndumi, for her guidance, energy, and confidence that inspire us. I also want to thank her for the opportunity to attend the No Excuse Camp — it was an incredible experience where I learned so much, shared my story, and healed parts of myself.
